The cardiology team at Christus Trinity Clinic is welcoming a new team member in the person of Dr. Peter Macander.

Macander teams up with the Christus Trinity Clinic after a stint at the Galichia Heart Hospital. He brings his 30 years wealth of experience as well as knowledge in clinical and hospital settings. Macander has a certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Canisius College of Buffalo. His Master’s degree and doctorate came from the State University of New York and Medical University At Wroclaw, respectively.

Beatty Dean Named Dean Of Business

The University of Texas at Tyler has named Robert Beatty as the new dean of their business college. Beatty comes with tremendous experience. He recently held the position of dean at the Lutgert College of Business at Florida.

“Robert comes with experience, knowledge and technical know-how. He brings the business acumen that will be helpful in our college and take us to the next level. We want to be an economic driver of East Texas, and Robert can help us achieve that,” said UT Tyler President Michael Tidwell.

Beatty started his professional journey as an officer in the U.S Air Force. From working as a project manager for Nuclear War Planning Systems at Offutt Air Force Base, he later became a project manager for Natural Gas Systems.

 

Acme awards company’s associates

Acme Brick Co.honored seven associates with service pins at an award ceremony. The seven pins were distrusted in four categories. John Bean and Lee Wallace received the 20-year pins; Willis Odum and Shirley Bennett received 15-year pins; Carol Williamson received the 10-year pin; Howard Lewis received a 5 year pin: and finally Mark Hays received a 2 year pin.

Acme currently holds the record for the largest brickmaker in the country. It was founded in 1891 and had over 15 brick plans across 13 states in the country.

 

Chemical Society honors Whiteside

American Chemical Society has honored Charles Whiteside of Kilgore for being a member for 60 years. Whiteside is the founder of Ana-Lab Corp based in Kilgore.

 

UPS honors Jack Haynes

UPS has awarded Jack Haynes along with 54 other drivers from Texas. All 55 drivers were inducted into the Circle of Honor (an elite organization of UPS drivers who have attained more than 25 years of accident-free driving).

Texas currently has more than 800 drivers in the Circle of Honor, and together they combine to give more than 23,600 years of accident-free driving. There are more than 8,000 full-time UPS drivers currently in Texas.
